This loop will take you from Nelson into the Valhalla range and the town of New Denver, over to the picturesque Village of Kaslo and back to Nelson, with all kinds of scenic and historic stops along the way, including the Nikkei Memorial Internment Centre and the ghost town of Sandon. International Selkirk Loop This driving tour is a multi-day loop which takes you down into the United States as well as through a broader region of South Eastern British Columbia. The Driving Tour is a 50-minute motoring trip that highlights the architectural variety of Nelson with descriptions of 24 residences and commercial buildings. If you are looking for a Fall/Winter activity other than skiing, October to May are the best months to fish Kootenay Lake. It's a big lake, however, and if you are unfamiliar with it, an easy way to find the best fishing spots is to take a tour.
