6^TH Annual Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Fest

FEBRUARY 24-27, 2012

The Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Fest is a grass-roots gathering where both experienced and debutant backcountry skiers and snowboarders can celebrate the culture of backcountry pursuits amongst breathtaking scenery and world renowned snow.

In addition to seasoned veterans, this event will also draw "keen to be" backcountry skiers and snowboarders who want to give off-piste adventures a try. The festival revolves around several days of clinics, competitions, events and celebrations of all ski/snowboard pursuits. See the festival website for more information.

Ski & Stay this Winter!

The 2011-2012 is in full swing! We are currently accepting reservations for the ski season and some dates are already quite booked, so you should make your reservations as soon as you know the dates you plan to visit.

This winter, in cooperation with Whitewater Ski Resort, we are offering our guests two different ski & stay options:

SKI & STAY PACKAGE

Package includes your overnight accommodation plus lift ticket(s) and all applicable tax. Packages must be purchased in advance or at check-in and are non-refundable. Package prices for adults start at:

$90.20 CDN per adult in shared (dorm style) accommodation

$116.52 CDN in a private single

$181.52 CDN in a private twin (2 adults / 2 twin beds)

$190.48 CDN in a private double (2 adults / 1 double bed)

$266.68 CDN in a private double / 3 persons (1 double bed + 1 twin bed)

These prices will save you, on average between $7.80 and $21.72 per day over separate purchase of accommodation at Dancing Bear Inn and lift passes at Whitewater.

SKI VOUCHER

For guests who prefer to make their "do I ski today?" decisions on a day-to-day basis, the Dancing Bear offers Ski Vouchers which can be purchased on a daily basis. Voucher prices are:

Adult: $66.00

Youth & Seniors (13-18 / 65+): $53.40

Juniors (7-12): $34.50

Dancing Bear Ski Vouchers will save you, on average, between $3.00 and $4.00 per day over the cost of purchasing your left pass at Whitewater. Vouchers are available to registered guests only. They are non-refundable and must be used either on the date purchased or within a time frame in which the purchaser is a currently registered guest at Dancing Bear Inn.

Groups of 12 or more:

If you buy all your ski vouchers at the DB one person stays for free.

Art Exhibitions

The Dancing Bear Inn hosts exhibitions featuring local artists, with shows rotating every two months. Art openings provide an opportunity to meet the featured artist, as well as enjoy wine and light fare.
